Welcome to 6th Grade Language Arts/Social Studies at Mallard Creek Stem Academy! My name is Ms. Womack, and I'll be your teacher this school year.
I'm a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and have lived in North Carolina for 2 years now.
During my short career as a teacher, I have taught both 7th and 8th grade Honors and Standard English and Language Arts courses. I have both a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in English and Language Arts Education from Widener University in Pennsylvania. When I'm away from school, I love to spend time with my family, read, write, and try out new, great food.
My philosophy on education is that all students can learn if given the proper tools and environment to do so. I believe that it is my responsibility to uphold academic integrity by operating in a fair and honest capacity. I am a life-long learner, and I try to instill this notion in my students as well. I expect my students to be honest, to do their best each day, and to take responsibility for their learning.
I’m truly excited to share my passion for reading and writing in a STEM project-based learning environment. In my classroom you will learn that reading and writing is both rewarding and fun. I'm looking forward to learning and growing with you this school year!
